Shrimporee Poster Unveiled

The winning poster design for the 63rd Annual Shrimporee was revealed at a gathering at the Rialto Theater, Wednesday May 18, 2011. 21 old Dennis Limon Jr's drawing depicting a trawler docked at Conn Brown Harbor was chosen as this year's winning entry. Limon, a native of Aransas Pass was present to autograph posters for attendees who purchased a poster. Miss Shrimporee Pageant

A Scholar Pageant where one lucky contestant would be crowned Miss Shrimporee was also held a few weeks in advance of the Shrimporee festival. Jennifer Lira of KRIS-TV emcee'd the event. Thirty girls ranging form 4-18 participated in the contest. Marielyn Cruz was crowned 2011 Little Miss Shrimporee, Danielle Moreno was crowned 2001 Jr. Miss Shrimporee, Dana Thompson was crowned 2011 Teen Miss Shrimporee, and Sunny Escamilla was crowned 2011 Miss Shrimporee.
