The March Business of the Month was awarded to The Aransas Animal Clinic

It was opened in April of 2005 by Shane and Jennifer McInnis. They have a full service clinic pro-viding diagnostic and preventive care for small animals in the coastal bend. They also per-form surgeries and provide vaccinations, as well as x-rays, ultra sound, EKG and dental work. Dr. Jennifer McInnis worked with a board certified veterinarian in geriatric medicine for six years and especially enjoys working with her elderly animal patients. Aransas Ani-mal Clinic joined the Chamber in 2005 and has enjoyed working with the chamber through-out the years. Aransas Pass and the surrounding communities have many excellent fund-raisers that they have been honored to participate in. The little league teams have been especially fun for the clinic to support. They hope to enjoy many more years working with and for the community.

The Aransas Pass welcomes Northshore Emergency Center as a new chamber mem-ber. Construction is complete on a new 10,000-square-foot emergency medical center in Portland, parent company HCA announced. Northshore Emergency Center, 1702 U.S. Highway 181 North, opened Monday 8, 2011. The facility will treat emergencies such as heart attacks and strokes, and could save time for patients who previously would have had to cross the Harbor Bridge for treatment. The 12-bed emergency de-partment will be open 24/7. It will create 33 jobs with emergency room physicians and nursing, lab and radiology staff. It can provide CT scans, ultrasound, X-rays and lab work. Tennessee-based HCA has about 163 locally-managed hospitals and 105 sur-gery centers in 20 states and England, including four Corpus Christi Medical Center locations.
